Advantages: It's a good phone.

Disadvantages: It Disintegrates.

My friend bought this phone, roughly a year ago at a what was a fair price back then.

The S500i is aimed at women, and has a special feature that will change your theme (when you open and close your phone, by sliding it). In January you will get cold colours which will slowly change and become lighter and greener, perfectly in time for spring and so on. I've heard it is quite nice in December when it is christmassy. And with a black cover and green keypad it can look quite nice.

The menu is fairly simple and can be changed, but basically has 12 icons. Like most sony ericssons.

On the front you have two soft keys, the back key, the clear key and two shortcuts. You also have the navigation buttons and the the middle button has a contrasting green trim.

But why I am reviewing my friend's phone...? Well you will soon know.

The phone is a slider phone and has a 2.0 mega pixel camera that you see when sliding the phone open. This also reveals two little lights that also change according to the date.

So this is just your average phone really. A few clever tricks like red eye removal and 'Photo DJ', 'Music DJ' and 'Video DJ' you can play music at a fair level and put in your own M2 memory card. There is nothing complicated about this phone.

So at £60 It sounds quite good, right? WRONG.

So the reason I am reviewing this is that my friend bought it roughly a year ago, as I said. And the phone has completely failed. Half the keys don't work. She can't read texts. She can't hang up. The keys cracked ages ago and maybe you can say it's her fault she text's too much. But It's only been a year and you expect a phone to last longer before it starts crumbling. So I have had to lend her one of my phones until she gets a nice one on her birthday. I don't understand how nearly every where says this phone is great and gives it roughly 4/5. It was quite a nice phone, while it lasted. It's kind of like those phones that will "now self-destruct".

So I say make your own mind up. Maybe she got unlucky

Sorry for the useful, it's good review, but if you wrote something about the camera quality, and what some of the other functions are like if it has bluetooth i will be more than happy to change my rating! =) x
