The quality of the Spiro is dependent on a couple of different factors. If you are looking for a simple phone, mostly just for calls and, of course, listening to music, then odds are you will fall in love with this phone and it's simple design and unique mp3 player-ish layout. Simplicity is back with the new Sony Ericsson Spiro. Sony Ericsson have targeted the minorities who don't need an 'all singing, all dancing' highly complicated smartphone. Some of us just need a Phone & SMS function to get through our day. This phone is great for those who aren't constantly glued to their handset. With simple text and calls and the camera/video and walkman feature it's and easy phone to use on paper. In my experience though there are a few shortcomings: On numerous occasions the phone tends to freeze up, it feels quite slow getting through menus and texting using predictive text can be quite tedious and definately slows down the process (even once it has saved some of your own words) I also get frequent problems with the signal, the phone will look as if it has full signal but will display an 'emergency calls only' warning at the top of the screen. I'm not bothered about having the latest all singing all dancing phone and bought when of these when my old phone died after Christmas and I was short of funds..... Although I mainly wanted a basic phone for calls and texts, I was attracted by the 'walkman' feature as I do like to have a bit of music on my phone to use as ringtones and for those bored moments.
