T303 - almost a great phone (Sony Ericsson T303)

Advantages: Small, good slider action, good speaker and microphone quality, good screen

Disadvantages: No expandable memory, not the most reactive buttons, if battery removed then forgets too much

I purchased a Sony Ericsson T303 after hearing how great Sony Ericsson phones are from a friend but was the friend right?
I have found some really great things about the T303, for example I like the slider motion on this phone, the screen I have found clear to see and I have found that the speaker and microphone quality both seem to be very good as well however this is pretty much where it ends with the positived.
I have noticed a slight issue with the main buttons (non alpha-numeric) when you are sending texts in that it is as if the buttons are not quite lined up as perfectly as they need to be (this maybe through use but as I have only had the phone for about 5 months I can't see this being the case) and this leads to you having to push the button a few times in order for it to do the action once which is annoying more so if you have a near dead battery and are trying to let someone know your phone will be off. I have also had a few issues with the phone freezing out on occassions which is something I know a lot of phones have happen but when you remove the battery and re-insert it in this phone it does not remember the date, time or anything like this from previous which I was shocked at.
Sony Ericsson are known for quality phones and this one does feel like one at first and has the smart looks we are all looking for but maybe with the price tag being about £50 it is no surprise that it just does not do what you hope for. That I would understand but it is simple things this lets itself down with which is just shocking.
Overall this is a phone that looks the part but is frustrating and so I simply can't recommend it to anyone.
