Advantages: Long battery life, large message memory.

Disadvantages: Minimal fetures, small keys.

Mobile phones are an accessory that I was never that bothered about. In an age where many people just have to own the latest phone with touch screen technology or a thousand and one applications, all I ever wanted was a reliable phone I could use to phone and text people.

I had a non colour phone up until last year, my old reliable Nokia 3310. With it's death, my father gave me his old phone, the Sony Ericsson T303. Price wise, you can pick this up now for under 40 quid so we're in budget territory here to begin with. The phone itself looks rather pleasant with its silver finished and slider that conceals the keypad. I'm not sure on the exact dimensions but it fits in the palm of my hand and is a snug fit in any trouser pocket I have, this makes it excellent at what it is - a mobile communications device.

As I mentioned before, I'm only really focused on the use of phone and text, other applications don't really interest me. However, the ones I do find myself using are the alarm, with various tones a good range of volume, and the calculator which I find surprisingly easy for a phone.

Other applications include a couple of small games, although they are rather substandard (I'd take good old snake any day) a 1.3 megapixel camera which I don find myself usin on rare occassions. The picture quality is not brilliant, but it's good if you need a quick snap for whatever reason. There is also your usual internet access although I have never used it so cannot comment.

When it comes to texting, this phone is pretty decent. The phone can store a fair amount of texts, as well as being able to save drafts or messages you want to keep sorted from your general inbox. I currently have 200 texts on my phone and it still is showing no signs of getting full. The keys themselves are not the largest however, so peope with larger fingers such as myself can find it takes a little while to get used to.

The contacts book is simple and easy to use as you're able to store multiple numbers to the same name and assign them as home/mobile/etc, I'm sure this is the standard for all phones today but I did not have that ability on my ancient 3310. The volume is good and can be changed easily, I often find that phone volumes can be spordic at best, however this one is pretty reliable and I have yet to have any problems with it.

The battery life is something I am very satisfied with. One of the reasons I prefer old phones is that so many new models have really awful battery lives! Gone are the days of charging your phone once a week. This phone, however, has a great one which came as a surprise. I usually charge this every 4-8 days depending on usage which I find quite remarkble. Considering I don't look for much in a phone, the stuff I DO look for I want to be impressive so the battery was a big winner in my book.

Overall, this phone is fairly bog standard. There are hundreds of better models out there, probably for not that much more money. But for a cheap buy this phone is great. The features are modest but as I said before, I am only looking for a phone to do that thing people don't seem to buy phones for anymore - contacting people!

If, like me, you only want a basic phone that looks quite nice, then I wholeheartadly recommend this product. If you're looking for something a bit more, than I would advise stay well clear.

Summary: Something simple for the phone user who just wants to phone or text.

The slots into the back, next to the battery. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the WAP coverage as, like I said in my review, I only use the basic stuff on my phone. Sorry I could not help more

Does this brand have a decent WAP coverage and where does the Sim Card go?
