The phone itself is very chunky and to be honest, looks very brick like. I feel the designers could have put more effort in with the style and overall look. However, the phone does stand up well either upside-down or normally. This is good if you want to utilise the timer feature on the camera.
Now; the good points. Feels solid - This is something that's important to me as an individual, but this might not settle well with other buyers. Nice keypad - Big and easy to text quickly from. Packed with features - Lots of stuff here, from Bluetooth remote control, to the Code Memo feature (Lets you store passwords and PIN numbers securely), to the basic alarm and calculator. Camera - The camera is nice and produces good results.
The bad points. Really quite heavy - It's quite a handful and if you like having light pockets, this isn't the phone for you. Visual appearance - Let's face it, it looks like a brick. Charging - I've found that trying to connect the charger to it is a pain, because the connectors oxidise and you need to wiggle the charging lead around a bit to get it to work. Quite slow - If you're viewing your pictures, and you have a lot of them, the phone slows down quite a lot.
Overall the phone is very reliable and has good battery life. The graphics are average, but the screen really is quite small. The call quality is good and it's easy to text with. I'd recommend it to first time buyers, because the phone is quite easy to understand (after a week or so) and is very durable. I'm afraid I don't know much about the average price, as I've had this phone for quite a while, and the prices would have changed a lot since it was bought for me.
I recieved this mobile phone for my birthday.I really wanted a flip phone but the ease of use on this phone was spectacular so i prfered this one. The 3G service is really good and as i live in a little town i was suprised to find that the coverage covered me!. The day that i got the phone i charged it up for the 2 hours as it said in the very clearly printed instructions then i was away!! One problem is that you have to send away to get your mobile number. This was a real nuisance because i wanted to give my number to all of my friends!
I found out that you get one free month with mobile TV which is really handy.
The 1.3 megapixel camera is a little patchy but not bad.
BEWARE!!!- It calls itself an MP3 phone but it can only hold 5 mp3's!!
My advice would be if you were buying this for a younger relative it would be great!!
I was sort of talked into this when my vodafone contract expired and I wanted to upgrade (from a Nokia 6600). It seemed OK and the camera is very good but setting up to get my in car bluetooth handsfree has been a real pain and I have basically given up, am now looking to get back on to a Nokia ASAP. I have also found that whilst the slider to fire up the camera is good, it seems to open fairly regularly when it is in my pocket. I have not yet been able to use the USB cable to download pictures and synchronise with my PC as that was one of the things I wanted to do mainly with it.
Not sure if it is me but the battery life is not as good as I had expected after coming from a Nokia.
I was offered one of these on a freebie upgrade on my vodafone contract - I chose it as it had bluetooth.
Initially I was quite impressed as I had upgraded from a Nokia 6110 - so being feature packed it was quite a novelty:
- good camera - I take pictures quite regulalry and they can be easily dowmloaded to PC and are of reasonable quality.
-nice clear screen.
Bits that annoy me:
- the ring volume is too low - I work outside a lot and even at highest setting I sometimes can't hear it
- rubbish interface - it's very fiddly - things don't seem to flow. For example if you've had a missed call - the phone shows it - but when you go into your missed calls list it's not at the top of it - often appearing fair way down
- the 'Live' button (vodafone only) is easily pressed
- I personally think the buttons are too close together and small
- not good reception
I haven't got a 3G contract so can't comment on that part of it.
