Advantages: Good price, easy to see, got all the basics. Some good features.
Disadvantages: Seriously let down by all the faults. Temperamental.
This is my first review, so I thought I'd go for something I know well and use every day... please bear with me. I got this phone for Christmas 2009, so I have had it for about 20 months. I think it's a good looking phone, I also like that mine is the pink version.
It's quite light, and it slides open to reveal the keypad. The Menu screen is easy enough to get around - there are nine images, one for each submenu, and the title of each one comes up when you highlight it. The camera isn't bad (1.3MP), and the screen is pretty big. The keys are easy to use. There is a track ID function where you can play a song, and the phone uses the internet to identify it, but I've never used this. There are 2 games already on it, they are easy to use and pass the time, but nothing groundbreaking. You cann download other games for it though. There is a radio function; this only works when the headphones are in. I use this phone a lot for Facebook, and it is really slow, the pages are often too large to load completely, and it runs the battery down very quickly - phone usually needs charged once a day, but battery can drop straight from 'green' section into the 'red' as soon as you use the internet. It has all the usual functions - calendar, alarm, etc. It's a good basic phone, but it can be very frustrating.
There are unfortunately a lot of negatives for me about this phone. The memory is very small without a memory card, which meant that I could only take one photograph and one 30second video. The sound on the video is good though.
When I got it there were four different colour schemes you could choose from for the menus etc (available in the Settings menu). I don't know what exactly has happened, but a few months after I got it, the phone reset itself and now all the colour schemes are locked, so everything on my phone is less than basic. The background image is just a blank black screen, as the one photo that I had taken is now locked, and I can't do anything to it, even delete it. The ringtones now don't work either so I'm back to the good old Sony Ericsson ringtone.
Another problem I have is that when I am texting, sometimes the phone freezes on the number of the key I'm using - for example, when writing the letter 'C', my phone will stick on the number 2, and the only way to get round it (apart from switching off and on again) is to keep pressing the same key until it works again. It also slows down when you are nearing the full capacity of the text message.
It also has a funny habit of turning itself off or deciding not to ring when people call.
When I started writing this review, I almost felt like I was cheating on my phone, and I felt bad, but reading it back, now I'm wondering why the hell I still have this handset.
Summary: Nice little phone, let down by numerous technical hitches. Would not recommend.
