I got the Sony Ericsson W380i as a Christmas present from my boyfriend as I had been coveting it for ages-not for many of its attractive features, such as its slimline appearance, gesture control (more of that later) and music control buttons on the front, but rather because it was purple. I didn't particularly need a new phone when I bought this but it just looked so good in deep purple with hot pink accents that I just had to have it! The coolest feature of this phone is the 'magic metal' surface. It just looks like a standard phone with a braille pattern down the front, but press it and the metal lights up in a little screen showing the time plus little symbols for the battery power, any unread messages, signal strength and whether the phone is locked or not. Sony Ericsson W380i is a stylish and lovely handset. Its two main features are solidity and style. It lights up when an sms or a call is coming in to get your attention. The touch-sensitive control buttons are just below this display. They are easy to use and the keypad features are well-spaced out. However it does not include a headphone socket.
