The walkman series of Sony Ericsson is most popular due to its high quality music player with Mega-Bass Cristal sound. Another series that is known as cyber-shot specially dominated for portable digital photography and that is also popular in specific community. I like most of walkman phones from Sony Ericsson as I am not satisfied with the picture quality in mobile cameras.
Today I will discuss about budget walkman phone which can be useful for common peoples. The Sony Ericsson W380i, where W is foe Walkman series and I is for international version that is known as same name in all over the world.

The phone
Phone has a beautiful folding design and the size is also easily pockatable with 92 x 49 x 16 mm, and the weight is almost 100gm. The important point here is that it has thickness about 16mm in folding dimension and that is considered as good as slim category phone in non folding phones. Almost this is slim in its category.
Display is next point of attraction and here is something different than what we have in many other phones, meant there is no rule followed in this phone as it has some different screen size with 176 x 220 pixels, 1.9 inches. This size is some new in mobile phones as there is hardly any supporting application available for this display size. But the screen size is good with bright display with 256k color display.

Memory
There is a good memory capacity for this phone with 14Mh shared internal memory and Memory Stick Micro (M2) card support with up to 4 GB supported. The internal memory is only meant for Messages and JAVA applications as the external card support is for music storage. There is no doubt about memory size as it is good enough for this phone.

Data Connectivity
A next feature that is important for any mobile phone is its data connectivity solutions and this phone has adequate data transfer medium as per its middle category. There are GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB support for this phone and these features are fit for this phone.
There is no scope f 3G and WLAN yet in middle budget range phones but I think that this also will be possible in future that every phone will have some advanced connectivity features like 3G and Wi0Fi. We are now moving toward 4G technology so that 3G is now going to be old age technology but it still the most popular medium for high speed data transfer in mobile devices.

Music, Camera
There is no importance of camera in this phone as it has traditional 1.3MP camera but it is only for timepass solution but the quality of photos is not satisfactory.
Music player is the overall important feature of this phone as it has good walkman player and we can enjoy quality sound of it. But the quality sound of walkman player is only possible with compatible handsfree. Without that it is not possible in built-in handsfree. If Sony provides some good built-in stereo speakers in middle range phones also, than it will get more attention of customers.
Battery life is also good and there is a adequate battery back-up with Standard lithium ion battery, Li-Ion 930 mAh (BST-39), with total talktime is about 5to 7 hours. The music playback time is also as same. It will reduce in video playback, but in audio it will be similar to talktime.
