Disadvantages: Would be better with a higher MP camera

After seeing this phone's 'downgrade' online a month ago, I was delighted when my husband bought me it for Christmas. Only left to be disappointed as the internet was awful and I was having real trouble picking up a signal. He popped down to Phones 4U and ended up coming home with this phone, the upgraded version of the one he returned. I was actually much more impressed with this one, it looked a looked a lot better than the previous version, and the functions were much more improved, too.

After using my Viewty for about 18 months prior to this, I had grown used to a touch screen phone and worried slightly about getting used to a different handset. The first thing I preferred about this phone was the size, it made my Viewty look like a brick! It sits very nicely in the palm of my hand and is really light, too.
My version of this phone is pink - the casing on the front is a metallic pink. There is a screen roughly about 1.5-2 inches long and an inch wide.
Underneath the screen are some keys - in the centre is a round dial, which is your navigation bar to use your phones menu, and also double up as controls for the Walkman feature, including play/pause, and skip back and forward. Either side of the dial are your call butons for accepting and hanging up calls. Underneath the accept button, is a small round key with a 'w', this button takes you straight to your Walkman music instead of going through your menu. The cancel button is underneath the disconnect button, and there are two more keys to use a shortcuts through your menu.
When you slide the screen up it uncovers your number key pad. On the side of the phone is a camera button which acts as another shortcut. And on the top there is a slot for an M2 memory card.

The camera is a 2.0 MP camera, so good for nice basic snaps, but it doesnt take the greatest pictures. They can sometimes come out a little fuzzy and in dim light they are really hard to see, but if you use it outdoors it manages to get some pretty good snaps.

The Walkman feature can be accessed in your menu. I add songs by connecting my phone to the pc via the USB cable that was supplied, and use a simple drag and drop technique to transfer my songs. They all then show up on a playlist on your phone. This phone has two loudspeakers on the back which help you enjoy your music better as the volume is good and the sound is clear. I have on more than one occasion had problems of my music crashing and making a horrible noise and I have to remove the battery to stop it, but Im not sure if this is a phone fault or my files, but I dont often use the Walkman player so I never bothered to find out.

Im a big fan of phone internet, especially Facebook, so it was important to me that I get a good connection and easy access. I can quickly access my internet from my menu, it doesnt take long to connect, and all my favourites are saved on the homescreen. The image quality is great and its easy to use. I only really use it for Facebook, Sky news and football results, but have no complaints about it doing what I want.

My main downfall on this phone is that I am a huge fan of texting, I send lots and receive lots, so I like to have a big memory as I cant really be bothered to keep deleting texts, but the text memory is not as good as I have had in the past, so every few days I have to delete all my messages.

Other functions this phone has are - file manager, to sort your music, photo and video files. Organiser, which includes a basic calculator, calendar, alarm and stopwatch plus a few others, plus settings to sort out your call settings, connectivity, phone settings etc. There is also a FM radio which you just need to connect headphones to to listen to.

There is also bluetooth connectivity, and you also have the USB connectivity too.

I have to say, that after having a more expensive phone, I wasnt too sure how I would get on with this one, but it is brilliant. I have no problems with it, it has a few nice little extras as well as doing all the things I need from a phone, calls, texts and internet, and it does it well.

The other thing with this phone is that its so much cheaper than some handsets around today - you can pick this up for just under £50!! And if you are buying the pink one for the girlys out there, Phones4U have this for £49.95 and it comes with a Bourjois lipgloss and mascara, that for freebies are actually pretty good!!

If you after a simple but effective little handset, I would efinately recomend this one
