I love my new phone! (Sony Ericsson W595)

I am not a whizz with phones and to be honest I am more bothered about what the phone looks like and the photo quality of it rather than all the other amazing things that they do!! So with this in mind at my latest upgrade I was offered the Sony Ericcson W595, which is a walkman phone, so after looking online, I decided it looked good enough so decided to upgrade to this handset. I received the phone free of charge as it was included in my upgrade, but after looking online this phone costs roughly £180 to purchase brand new I have only every had Nokia phones, so was a little bit scared at having a brand new handset, as I was worried I wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it!!

I am not going to list all the specifications of the phone, as this can easily be looked up, plus as previoulsy mentioned i dont really have a clue about the technical side of the phone, i will simply give my opinion of it!

I chose the black handset, as I preferred this colour to the others; this phone is also available in blue, white or pink. The phone is a slide phone, you slide the front of the phone up to reveal the keys underneath. There are a few keys that you can use without siding the front up, these are just your basic navigation keys, menu keys, call keys and on and off buttons.

The phone is a very nice size, not too bulky or too small. It is also very slim line and fits easily into a pocket or handbag. It measures 47mm x 100mm x 14mm. The phone comes with a full instruction manual, a booklet to tell you how to operate the walkman on the phone, a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer, a hands free kit and a battery charger. It also comes with a CD to upload the software for the phone onto your computer, this then enables you to transfer things from your computer to your phone and vice versa.

The screen is large and measures 4cm x 4.5cm, so is great for viewing pictures or sending text messages and is much larger than any other phone I have had, it is also in colour, so has a very good picture quality. The phone has 40mb of memory, but if you require more memory you can purchase a memory stick and it can then hold upto 8 GB.

The only features I have really used on this phone are the basic things like making calls, texting and taking photographs. The phone is very easy to use and I found it so easy to pick up to say I had never used one before. The camera is 3.2 mega pixels and takes extremely clear photographs.

My favourite feature of the phone is the walkman. It works on the same basis as an MP3 player, in that you can download all your favourite music onto your phone and then use it as a walkman, so you can take your favourite tracks wherever you go. You can change the tracks with a shake of the phone!! It is great for when I am travelling or bored, as I can just plug in my head phones and drift off with my favourite tracks!! I found it very simple to transfer music from my computer onto my phone, all I had to do was plug in the USB cable and then select the tracks I want to transfer and it will automatically transfer them for me.

I have to say that I absolutely love my phone, I have found it very easy to use, in fact I have found the settings and menus very similar to the Nokia's. I will definitely be choosing another Sony Ericcson when I am next due an upgrade!
