Advantages: Stylish features
Disadvantages: Poor earphones
Previous to this phone I had the W880i by Sony Ericsson. The Sony Ericsson phones have a good array of features on them and I especially like the built in walkman. The W595 comes with a built in 2Gb memory card. I have loaded the phone up with ~15 albums and have still got 450Mb of space left. You can purchase a 8Gb memory card for the phone for around the £20-£30 mark at the moment.
For photo enthusiasts the phone is average, the 3.2Mpixel camera does the business in daylight but lacks a flash so don't bother getting your phone out on a night out.
The sliding mechanism is solid and makes the screen bigger than my previous W880i, but the phone weighs a bit more and is a bit thicker (14mm vs 10mm of W880i)
The colour of the phone seems to depend on your provider, mine is the black version from vodafone.
Great battery life...
I was suprised to find the google maps application on the phone (no GPRS though) but still handy. Shame you have to pay for data when using the maps as they are accessed via the net and not loaded onto the phone as in the iphones case.
The bits I would miss the most from my last phone are to do with the accessories. Luckily my W880i earphones fit the W595. The earphones are old school in ear phones, not the new plug type ones. Also the earphone connection to the phone has the ability to accept two sets of earpones at once. So you and your friend can listen to the same music on the train and have absolutely no chat!
All in all, a good phone with minor drawbacks.
Oh forgot to mention the FM radio, not tried it yet but should be a great little feature.
Summary: 5* minus 1 for the earphones
