Advantages: Quite sleek, potential for lots of music memory
Disadvantages: Not very sturdy, better Sony Ericson's out there
I upgraded to this model back in January, so I hope my 10-month experience of this is useful to other people!
This is a great phone to use as a walkman, but I have to say it doesn't really stand out from other Sony Ericson's I have had (W660i). Apart from the track changing when you shake it, which is really just a novelty rather than a real feature.
The camera is okay at 3.2 megapixels, and is very basic (no flash etc) which is fine for everyday outdoors snapshots, but you're never going to be taking photos worthy of facebook uploading! Again, it depends on what you look for in a phone, but I reckon you could get a walkman phone with a better camera for not much more money.
Someone else has mentioned the lousy backing - the phone 'appears' to be metal but the back casing is flimsy plastic; I actually managed to break one of the clips fairly quickly, so it's quite difficult to fit it back together. This is especially annoying as the memory card is stored where the battery is, unlike other models where it is accesible without having to take the whole thing apart - however, this is probably only a problem for me as I switch the card between devices!
The battery life isn't amazing - again, I've had it for 10 months but the life is about the same as my W660i and I've had that for almost two years.
Overall it's a fairly basic phone, nothing special. I would neither recommend or unrecommend it but if you are offered it as an upgrade I would definitely consider your other options!
Summary: I wouldn't turn it down as a free upgrade, nor would I seek it out!
