Advantages: Contemporary, Compact and Capable

Disadvantages: Small keys

Sony Ericsson has a reputation for churning out decent phones at an affordable price and the W610i is no exception.
Although sitting in the middle of a fairly dense range of aesthetically and technically identical phones, the W610i stood out for me as great value for money. At only £120 on O2 'Pay as you go' this was almost half the price as some other manufacturers' models and to complete the cliché it had twice the features.

I'm sure there are a lot of people like me who grew up on a staple diet of successive Nokia's! It had to take something as user friendly and welcoming as a 'run of the mill' Nokia to tempt me to take the road less travelled, so when my old nokia got left on the back of the bus one day I decided it was time to try something new.
The initial attraction for me with the W610i lay in the broad range of features packed into this slimline contemporary phone. With a decent (at the time) 3.2mp camera, Bluetooth, IR, FM Radio (essential for public transport) and of course, its main selling point the built in MP3 player with dedicated music buttons and expandable memory.
The actual phone itself is quite easy to use and fairly straight forward to navigate around. With one touch access to the camera and the MP3 system it is fairly user friendly and the pictures are of a fairly standard, phone quality. No complaints on that front. Texting on the other hand takes a bit of getting used to due to to the keys being quite small and fiddly. Not for the shovel-handed!
The audio sounds a bit muffled but standard and the radio is is of a fairly decent quality. The phone is quite compact and lightweight and
with its matte black front and contrasting metallic orange back, it also certainly catches the eye.
I had the phone for almost 2 yrs and in that time the only problem I had was with one of the keys sticking so no complaints on the reliability front either. All considered a really good phone that I would not hesitate to recommend.
