Acer Aspire 5630 laptop, this was a gift from my son some time back and by todays modern standards it is a bot dated but as the saying goes if it works why change it, I have used this laptop everyday for nearly 2 years and it has not let me down once, hang on a moment my cat smudge has just wondered in have to feed her keep jer happy.
Ok fat eating back to the laptop being an old foggy I need keys that I can see and I like the feel as you tap away the screen is a good size and it seems to like me, of course I would like the latest all singing all dancing machine wifi can turn your kettle on wake you up in the morning type but for now the Acer Aspire 5630 will do me nicely, the camera built in is usefull nothing lime taking my photo first thing in the morning when I look like the grim reaper but I can always touch my photo up like the magazines do for top models I suppose I am like the model ford t motor car old cheap but very reliable.
I have got this Walkman phone and It has so many good features, standard FM radio, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 4GB memory card that lets you store up to 3990 songs. GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G with HSDPA, shake control & motion gaming. Available in Silver or Black. I choose the black one as felt it was the more fashionable out of the two.
When I got started with this phone I found that the Media -Go made it easier for me to bring my media with me where ever I went. Really helped me to transfer my media files between my phone and Mac Mini. File conversion is a breeze, automatically converts films and music files to give you the best possible quality. Well this is my opinion and from other phones that I have had before, the quality is good.
The GPS location based service and Walk Mate application I feel is a waste of time, maybe for the more body conscious person. Plus unless you are going to be lost in the middle of America the Sahara desert or Antarctica, then for the average person this function is wasted and does not need to be there, but i'm sure there are loads of consumers who may well put this in to good use.
Sony Ericsson Sync also made it possible for me to access and manage up to date information in my mobile phone from the Internet, have used this on a regular bases and found it to be a quick and reliable tool and easy to use.
Pro's) The serious speed on this phone is impressive, with the phone being fully YouTube, when my previous Sony Ericsson was not. The fast Internet connection and Wi-Fi support is a well deserved add on with this phone, plus the broadband-like speed's to me is what sold this phone. There is so much software and devices on this phone to talk about, so what I would say is buy one and it is definitely worth the cash.
Con's) I felt the 3.2 megapixel camera was a little bit of a let down and they could of at least gone over a 5. The head phones are not that special and often fall out my ears, so for me I do not use them. As with most Sony Ericsson you get the odd bugs. Every now and again it takes some time to move from one screen to the next. It is like they have crammed so much in to the phone that it takes some time for the phone to think about what you want to do. In my experience Sony Ericsson have always had this problem but you get used to this. As a rule Sony Ericsson are made very well, reliable and have never let me down.
Really good phone 4 out of 5
I went into my local phone shop and this phone jumped out in front of my eyes. It looked different to any others with its silver casing and soft plastic backing. The looks of this phone are itsmain advantage. Now for the bad parts. The video camera is poor as is the main stills camera compared to its rivals. However if you dont care about the camera quality then forget what i am saying. althoogh now the iphone and all these touch screens are making their way into the market this phone will do the job in calling people and taking pictures. However, the options of gaming and internet use are limited. Only available on Vodafone its an expensive piece of kit aswell although you will get great signal coverage. Another slightly worrying thing about this phone is the way it freezes for a few seconds at a time usually when you are scrolling briskly through the main menu. I tend to think that it will break any minute. There is a plus side though a few months back i accidently submerged my whole phone into a pint of vodka and energy drink. After drying it out and praying it would work it came straight back on. Pheeeeeeeew
This is an elegant and stylish phone which feels light and well-made. As it is a Walkman phone, it has been geared towards music, however this really doesn't mean it has compromised on other functionality. The camera doesn't disappoint, allowing you to tag photos and stores them automatically by month.
A feature I really like is that of conversations with SMS text messages. This groups all your messages from a single person into one view.
I really love this phone, I've had no problems with it. It's surprisingly robust as well - surviving being dropped on many occasions. The battery life is good too, lasting easily for days before needing to be charged up.
It comes with various applications built in, including a pedometer and comic strip application, as well as a stopwatch, timer and allows the setting of multiple alarms.
It has built in location services such as Google Maps and lets you track where you've been.
The controls look unusual but it's very easy to get used to them.
All in all, it's a gorgeous looking phone, does everything I need it to do, and I won't be changing it anytime soon.
I have had this phone for a number of weeks and it is very good, apart from a few flaws.
I read reviews on the internet to make sure I was getting the right phone. I found out that a number of customers had problems of the phone reporting no SIM inserted and wrong battery type inserted, even if both were in. I have encountered this problem with the 'No SIM inserted' when I kept swapping between my Vodafone and Orange SIM cards. To resolve, a simple case of wiping finger on the SIM and putting it back in.
The slide functionality for locking the phone is rather poor. Compared to my old Nokia slide phone, which would always lock when sliding the phone down, this Sony Ericsson is not as good.
The phone is VERY light and has a lot of functionality, those I cannot fault. Sending and recieving messages and phone calls has never been so simple either. The MP3 player is as good as it gets.
The contract I got with Vodafone was brilliant, especially with the amount I pay and having the phone free.
The phone comes with charger, earphones and data cable. You also get, as per usual, manuals to help you set up and use your phone.
