Advantages: clear bright screen, walkman phone, e-mail

Disadvantages: none really

Firstly I didn't buy the Sony Eriksson w800i, I borrowed it from a friend of mine because I saw lots of people with it and I was wondering why it was so popular, I just had to find out. I asked my friend if I could borrow his phone for a week just to find out how it was and he agreed under one condition, bring it back in the condition in how he gave it me.

The first thing I realised was that it was very light and the design of the phone was really good and it was made so it was easy to use. The screen was really clear and bright and I didn't have to strain my eyes of it like some of Sony Eriksson previous phones (not mentioning any).

Throughout the week I went through all the features that were available on the phone. There's an excellent 2 megapixel camera which takes brilliant photos and video clips for those special moments. The best feature of this phone is the walkman capability which grants easy access to you songs with one button. The phone also comes with a media player to play your videos and the sounds that you recorded using the sound recorder. You can view the internet through the WAP browser that is provided. Viewing the web pages is really easy through the browser.

You will never get bored with this phone, you can play java games which come with the phone plus you can download lots of extra games, but you have to pay. There's also a radio which receives FM channels. Connectivity is a breeze with the w800i. There's the normal Bluetooth, along with infrared, which I don't think you'll ever use, plus there's a USB port which makes synchronisation with your PC really easy.

the reception isn't the best but it's alright if you want to amke those normal calls to your mates or want to make a business call to your boss. The clarity of calls is also alright, but whenever bad weather or when you go deep into the country side, you get some major interference.

Sony Eriksson has provided brilliant organising tools for you with this phone. There's an alarm clock with a calendar, plus a phone book along with a stopwatch. There's also a timer and a program that helps you organise your tasks.

You can send e-mails with the phone along with text messaging and MMS messaging.

Overall, this phone is brilliant and can used for many reasons. At the end of the week when I went to give the phone back my friend asked what I thought and I told him that know I know why everyone has this phone. I also asked my friend how much the phone was and he told me it was 40, which is really cheap for a phone like this.

Summary: Good phone to have for everyday use

Nicely done, but I didn't see anything about the battery life - probably because you didn't have it long enough to get used to.

Good review but any info about actual digital quality of calls and strength?
