Advantages: Track ID, Walkman Player, cutstom themes, video calling.
Disadvantages: Keypad might not agree with some, speaker a tad tinny.
First off, this phone looks great. Really nicely designed gadget looks-wise.
It boasts the normal features of a high-end phone of it's time, such as bluetooth, 2 Mega Pixel camera, video editing, MP3 player, decent screen resolution, web browsing (to a certain extent). But there are a few things that make the W880i stand out from the crowd.
This is, of course a Walkman branded phone, and this means that the w800i comes complete with a customisable Walkman MP3 player embedded in the phone, as well as a dedicated Walkman button on the side of the phone which takes you straight to your music. I personally have found this a very simple but nonetheless useful feature.
Track ID is another great application on the w880i. If you're listening to a song on the radio/in a shop and you want to know the artist/album/song info, just go to Track ID and sample the music. It will then connect to a database in a matter of seconds and get you the song info you need. Pretty incredible stuff!
The w880i also sports an additional camera in the front of the phone, which is used for video calling - pretty nifty, although I have never personally used it.
Now, one thing which I love about Sony Ericsson phones is that most of them allow you to create your own themes. Being a bit of a graphics wiz myself, I take great pride and pleasure in making a theme for my phone on the PC, and using it out and about. This simple feature really lets you personalise your handset to the max - something that needs to be going on a lot more nowadays.
Only negatives I find with this phone are the speaker quality (it's quite tinny, but from such a small device it's only to be expected, the headphones supplied make up for it) and the keys take a bit of getting used to, considering how small they are.
Other than that, good, sturdy phone, had it about 13 months now and not considering an upgrade - it does the job, and it does it in style.
Summary: Stylish, reliable phone, with a load of features and cool addons.
