Advantages: lightweight, thin, good looks, loads of functions
Disadvantages: lack of standard ringtone and fiddly buttons
My previous phone was a Samsung. Not such a bad brand, however, I've always preferred the look and functionality of the Sony Ericsson range. I've had the phone for two weeks and I must say I am quite pleased with it. Initial thoughts and reason for choosing this phone, was simply because it was light and thin, meaning you could put this in your pocket and forget it was there until you need it. I have the phone in silver, which in my opinion is the best colour and really stands out.
The phone is made from some metal like material which gives you a sense of a strong durable phone. The phone itself is well laid out, with the exception of those small buttons. I find them a problem when texting, however it does contribute hugely to the sleek look of the phone, so it is a trade off of form vs. function. It's not so bad that it becomes unbearable, but perhaps those with less of a tolerance than me might disagree!
The function of the phone is no different to other phones in the range, continuing with the easily laid out menus and options the phone is easy to navigate and responds to whatever you need the phone to do (not always the case with electronic gadgets!) You have a good selection of ringtones, although if I have one gripe, it's that there is no standard "ring-ring". For people, who like me just want a standard ringtone to alert me to the fact the phone is ringing, as opposed to some fanfare attempt; (drawing in unwanted attention) this phone doesn't really cater for that. The features are already listed, so no point regurgitating them.
The camera I find is good quality though, although it would be nice to have a flash. I imagine the reason for its absence has a great deal to do with the thickness (or lack of). The movie player and files browser is also easy to use and fit for purpose.
The phone comes with 2 GB storage which means there is plenty of storage to being immediately storage music/videos/photos onto the phone.
The walkman is very good, and I have tried it a couple of times. However I tend to use my iPod so the walkman doesn't get great deal of use. However it is excellent and does not have a massive draining effect of the battery. Battery lifetime is excellent for the phone; my previous phone would last 2-3 days without charge, whereas this phone can easily go to 3-4 days without charge.
In short, the phone is ideal if you are looking for a lightweight phone, which covers the functions of any mid range mobile phone this is definitely it.
Summary: Great phone for the price
