Advantages: The colour, memory/storage and ease of use

Disadvantages: Battery life may be poor for some users.

My 18month contract with O2 was due for renewal in February 2009, so I started looking round for a replacement for my Sony Ericsson K810i. My main criteria was that the phone should be free as part of my contract renewal, since I don't use it that much, but still have the main feature I wanted in a phone a good camera.

Because of this I decided to stick with Sony Ericsson, and I must admit that the main reason I chose the W890i was because it came in mocha, not the standard black.

What did I get?

A very slim line and lightweight phone, (so slim you don't notice it in your back pocket, but also very easy to lose in my giant mummy bag)

The mocha colouring is lovely, and has a metallic finish which was unexpected after only seeing on the internet before purchase, and the buttons are easy to use although personally I am not keen on the mix of gold and silver buttons.

Layout of the functions on the phone is the same as other Sony Ericsson phones, so I find that very easy to use.

A camera which takes excellent photos outside. Although I have noticed that ones taken inside aren't quite as good, (no flash) and for some reason there isn't a zoom function in camera mode. There is in video mode though. However for my purposes the camera is fine.

With the addition of 2GB memory card, the phone can hold a lot of photos, and other stuff.

I haven't used the walkman feature yet, but I fine the sound quality from listening to the radio really good. I do have an issue with the earphones on the hands free kit which keep falling out of my ears.

The battery life is ok, but I find that it does need charging quite often especially if I have been playing games.

For my purposes, I think this phone is a good option, and I am very pleased with it.

Summary: Nice slime phone with some good features and cool colour

Nicely written, but I wonder - how does this work for you as a phone?
