Advantages: Good sound quality, large memory card, pleasing weight and look, long battery life
Disadvantages: Several knocks and scrapes have caused it to turn off by itself sometimes
My past two phones have been Sony Ericsson, so when given the chance to upgrade to a selection of phones this one jumped out. The look, feel and weight of the phone are all very nice.
The quality of sound on phonecalls is fine, the predictive texting is superior to any other phone that I've written a text on. The battery is almost a year old now but still holds charge for a couple of days and when I first got the phone it could stay charged for 4-5 days at a time.
A key part to any phone, in my eyes, is the games that come with it as I find them the perfect way to idle away a few minutes here and there. From O2 this phone came with several demos which are all very short and none of them inspired me to buy them. The other games on the phone are a rally driving game which I still haven't mastered, a game where you roll a marble around a course which is short but challenging and a brilliant game that is similar to Tetris but much easier and more addictive.
One of the primary attractions of this phone was the music capabilities. I can't say that I have ever used the radio feature on the phone so do not feel entitled to judge it. However, I do often use the music playback feature. The head phones that came with phone are very good with excellent noise exclusion and sound quality. There are several different equalizer settings but no customization, which would have been nice. The menu system for selecting songs is a effective and easy to use.
The camera is alright but has not really improved from previous generations of camera phones with the 2.0 megapixel cameras. The bigger memory card means that you can take hundreds and hundreds of photos in the highest quality whereas before a phone could only hold 80 or so.
The main drawback of the phone is that occasionally it will turn itself off for 5 minutes and then turn itself back on. This is probably not a serious fault and I would put it down to the fact that I have dropped my phone several times. Also it will sometimes not receive calls and then I will get a text informing me of a missed call.
The only thing that I could imagine that would have been a major improvement is that the phone does not shut down any menus when the phone is shut. This means that before you slide it shut you have to press the red phone button a couple of times. This is not a huge problem but would have been a nice addition
Summary: A phone that will do everything it claims to
