I had one of these phones but not for more than a few months. I found that the phone constantly crashed but perhaps I just had a dodgy one. I found it slow. The touch screen is not very sensitive compared to the newer phones. It is no good for sending quick texts as you need the stylus to open many features. The stylus snapped after minimanl use. I wouldn't recommend spending this amount of money on this phone as thare is a vast variety of newer phones which are far superior to this one. Also unless you are going to use all the features on the phone it really isn't worth investing any money in it. However, the walkman side of it is quite impressive. You can store a fair amount of music files on it plus the sound quality is pretty good. The phone is quite heavy and bulky and there is no camera. The walkman feature can sometimes be turned on while in your pocket even when you have locked it which is a bit irritating. If you are looking for something quick and easy to use this is not the phone for you. Also the phones speaker is not that loud. I have read other reviews which praise this phone. I may have just had bad luck!
The Sony Ericsson w950i is one of the best phones I have ever owned! The variety of features is endless. The touch screen LCD is really user friendly and having the buttons underneath is really good as well. I have always loved Sony Ericssons' and previously owned w800i which I also love. The one BIG disadvantage is the fact it has NO camera, if you have a decent digital camera then it should not be a problem and lets be honest even these 5mp cameras isn't that great on phones for some reason! The walkman feature is really fun and easy to use. There is lots of message storage and also a lot of file capacity. The FM radio is a bonus but only works with the headset plugged into the phone. The loudspeaker is also very crisp and clear. The internet is quite fast and the large screen really makes surfing the web on the move a real pleasure. Overall a good buy if you love to listen to music and already have a separate camera.
I got this phone in February and still have not mastered it,
The sound quality is great and gettting the music onto the phone is easy enough but finding it and putting it into the correct folder can prove time consuming.
I did not find the manual for this phone user friendly.
Deleting messages from their boxes can be quite fustrating as if you click in the wrong place it opens the message and then have to try and delete them again.
You cannot delete all, each one has to be deleted individually, so my suggesion would be delete as you go.
The touch screen is quite sensitive.
But all in all it is a great looking phone and is weasy to call and text from.
The battery live is good and it is quite loud, which is great when its in your handbag.
The alarm is easy to use and has a workdays only mode.......
Touch screen phones with character recognition may not be for everyone, but if they are, this is one of the best.
Combining all you need for business use with a great MP3 player this phone supplies it all.
Installation for Office backups is simple and recommended to get updates of software.
Given the size and technology involved this phone is a marked upgrade with music player to any p series phone.
While others may provide a close combination with the benefit of a camera, the lack of ability to take pictures in not worth worrying about.
On Vodafone contract this phone is free, certainly with small Business package and really meets to need.
While the w960i is about to come out and tempting it is too - this is not a phone I would say you get bored with after a year. Do enjoy it - I have and do.
