Great features but be careful (Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1)

Advantages: loads of features, able to download all sorts. easy to use when you get used to it.

Disadvantages: takes a while to get used to it. breaks without warning

I have had the X1 since January 2009. I chose silver because I thought the scratches wouldn't show up as much as the black one, and i'm glad i did.
You can download anything on the phone which is great, has word, excel, powerpoint all very handy for me.
The keyboard i find is really easy to use and the touchscreen works brilliantly and smooth.
It did take me a while to get used to the phone as it is very different to a normal phone with all the extra functions.
The problem I have with the phone is one day is august it turned itself off and wouldnt start up again. I charged it for a whole day but still didnt work. so i sent it back to carphone warehouse. They tried to fix it but I had a replacement. so my word of warning if you get this phone is to keep everything backed up. I lost all my phone numbers and a few photos and all of my appointments with no warning it was going to break down on me.
The buttons on the screen can be very small so using the stylus is the most appropriate method of using the touchscreen. You can download a program called XperiaTweak and that makes the phone more personalised and user friendly.
I have heard that the phone needs updating every so often but I have never done it (or understood how to do it) and everything works well for me.
The internet can turn itself on if your not careful so I deleted all my internet settings so this wouldnt happen. The wifi is good and fast and easy to use.
The screen is big so watching videos, looking at pictures, using you tube or iplayer is great.
I ordered pizza online on mine once which was a conversation starter.
I always have reception, does what i want it to so all round a good phone.
I would have given reliability 5 if it didnt switch off on me that one time

Summary: like it but id rather go for a simpler phone
