Advantages: Excellent value, excellent colour screen, good battery life, attractive design.
Disadvantages: VGA resolution camera, no expandable memory, poorly built keypad.
I bought the Sony Errisson K700i for £89.99 ($154) in the UK. In the store, the K700i had the most features for its price.
In terms of design, the K700i has a nice candybar design. From the reverse, the phone looks a camera, and from the front a phone. The K700i is averagely thin, with buttons on the sides (a volume rocker, camera button, and online key etc.). At the base is a charger and headset jack (the K700i comes supplied with a wired headset which can be used to listen to music, radio and used as a headset during calls). At the top is a dedicated power button.
The K700i performs all the usual calling, texting, and Internet services well, although some will miss no dedicated talk and end keys. The joystick is nice, but over time it will begin to be less responsive. The keypad is slightly cramped, but it is quite tactile and great for texting. However it feels quite poorly built.
In terms of features, there is a media player (which can be minimised for multi-tasking), radio, 41MB of in-built memory, Bluetooth®, infra-red, a VGA camera, video recording, and Internet services. On the down side, some networks lock the ability to set your ringtone as an MP3. Also sometimes the operating system is a bit sluggish when the memory is near-full.
Overall, the K700i would be a near-perfect phone, if it had a 2.0 megapixel camera, expandable memory and the operating system was not so sluggish.
I would recommend this phone to anyone who is interested in a balance of features and style, for a great price.
Summary: An excellent phone with a few features missing for an excellent price

- 31/12/07 This is a nice start but I think you could have expanded a bit on the things you liked best and least. I would also have liked to have heard about the battery life as well as something about how well people can hear you and you hear them, and the ease of use of the menus. |
