Advantages: It has bluetooth
Disadvantages: Its old compared to todays technology
This was one of the first mobile phones that I ever had and it was amazing in its day. It was also one of Sony Ericsson's first phones and it made the company into one of the current leading brands.
The mobile phone itself is actually the same size as most mobile phones that are currently on the market today. It may even be a just a little bit thicker but is a perfect size and fits into your pocket easily.
At the time of release, this was one of the best phones on the market, if not the best. It was one of the first to have a full colour screen and also one of the first to have an integrated camera built in. Although it now lacks many features that current phones have it still is a really good phone to use especially if it is just basic communication that you require.
It does all the basic communication features such as calling, sms texting and even access to the net through WAP. The sound quality during calls is just as good as the phones of today. It does have other features but I currently would not say they are useful anymore. While it does have a camera, it is very poor on today's standards. It is a VGA quality camera with a poor zoom feature. The built in memory of the phone is only 2MB so you cannot store a lot of pictures, roughly about ten before you must save them onto a computer or delete them. There is no expandable memory.
It does not have an mp3 player, which many phone users now require and it still plays polygraph ringbones. A major plus for this phone is that it was also one of the first to have bluetooth compatibility so you can attach a bluetooth hands free kit to it.
Other things it now lacks against newer phones would be a speaker to use as a speaker phone, the screen is now smaller then usual and the battery life is definitely not of useful quality anymore. It will not last more than 4 days without needing to be charged up even if it was left on standby for those full 4 days.
This was an early phone with a joystick and after a years use of this phone, the joystick began to become a pain as it became less responsive especially when accessing cerntain parts of the menu.
Overall it was a brilliant mobile phone when it was first released but with technology improving everyday, this was bound to meet its grave sooner or later.
Summary: Would not buy one now
