Advantages: EASE OF USE, GOOD KEYBOARD, GOOD DESIGN

Disadvantages: BULKINESS, FEW APPS, NO ADOBE FLASH, AND POOR BATTERY LIVE

G1 is a great mobile phone, it is easy to use and every function is kept stupid simple. But it is bulky, has low volume ringtone, and an appalling battery life.
If G1 is meant to be a true competitor to iphone, then it still has a long way to go as its disadvantages are iphone's strength. But in a developer's point of view, it is said that the flexibility involved with the production of the android apps is the greatest victory Google has over Apple and that with time, G1 will beat iphone. Well, that depends on how long.
Having said that, I think G1 in-built keyboard is a hit with me - it makes my writing jobs easy to do on the go and it is very convenient to use. But why oh why did Google leave out Adobe flash in its G1's Chrome browser. It did take some fun away from browsing, I must confess.

Summary: G1 HAS LAID A GOOD FOUNDATION, BUT IT NEEDS TO BUILD ON IT, QUICKLY.
