Advantages: cheap, basic, easy to understand

Disadvantages: cheap, basic, slow loading and just need more from phones today

My Samsung mobile died on me, it was a very painful experience, and after my mourning period of oooohhhhh about 1 hour, I dragged myself off to my local Sainsbury's just to get a cheap little phone to keep me going until I could invest in something better.

TADAAAAAAA.................may I present to you the T-mobile ZTE Zest (E110) phone.

I was attracted by this phone due to the price, it was only £14.99, however, had just been reduced to £9.99, so price wise was a winner, as, really did need something very cheap to keep me going for now.

The fact it also had a built in camera was a must, having got so used to using one, and this phone also has a VGA camera built in.

Other functions it has is MP3 player and FM radio (headests are included in box) , it has 1 pre-installed game called copter, and basic funtions as you would expect on a phone to enable you to text, phonebook, calendar, alarm, calculator etc.

****** The phone in Use *******

Firstly, this is quite a plastic phone, suppose only to be expected as I paid less than £10 for it, but, you can tell it is a cheap phone.
My primary uses for a phone would be texting, with calls coming second. Very simple to use for texting and also answering or making calls, however, once calls or texts are done, you have to keep hitting the back button to get back onto main screen, and, the pages do not load up very quickly, I can find myself having finished a few words before predictive text has displayed them on screen, and also annoying if trying to lock to put into my bag, as the lock page also takes a while to load up.
I really wanted a camera, as I often would see things and send pictures to friends, the camera again is quite slow to get onto page and to take pictures, however, once taken pictures do look clear and of decent quality. Unfortunately, there is no option to send a picture to any contacts, which I found very unusual, seems the only use is to take pictures and just add them to computer, I have not actually bothered doing this as it did not really fit the purpose I wanted it for. (however, there are also no cables provided with phone, so only way may be to add photo's to a card and use a card reader? unsure as, like I say, I never used it)
I have never used the MP3 player, but have tried out the FM radio, easy to use and tune in, but, I did find that after a couple of minutes the sound became a little distorted, so have not used these for a long period of time, more as a tester really.

******* Overview ********

As an overview on this phone, I would say as a beginner or first phone, perhaps so you can keep tabs on kids , then this is fine as very inexpensive, however, if you are used to mobiles then this would get you really frustrated purely by how basic it is and how slow it can seem to load each page. It is working as a stop gap phone, but newer phone on it's way and I cannot wait to say goodbye to my 'help me out of a rut' phone.

****** Rating *******

This was only ever a basic phone, and probably does exactly what you would expect. I am giving it 3 stars as an average score because of slowness, cheap feel, and basically, what is the point of a mobile phone camera if you cannot text them to people?

Summary: Good phone for kids perhaps, was ok in emergency, but please get my better phone to me soon
