Advantages: Cheap, looks good

Disadvantages: N/A

As a proud owner of LG's 'Renoir' mobile phone, I thought it would be in my best interest to purchase a case in order to protect its large glossy screen and shiny chrome-effect sides.

In the past, the phones I have owned have looked a little worse for wear after only a couple of months of use with chipped paintwork and adversely buffed screens. That said, i'm not as bad as some people who seem to drop their phones at every given opportunity - I seem to only drop my phone when there's water involved. Sure enough, like clockwork every year, my phone will fall into either a pint of beer, a toilet, or a puddle :(

Due to the fact I usually put my mobile in my jeans pocket (along with keys, and other sharp-edged objects), scratches are inevitable. The Renoir is even more prone to scratches than the iPhone, as it has a plastic rather than glass screen. In fact (and this is documented in video form on Youtube) you can take a razor blade and run it across the iPhone's screen without leaving a mark! Alas, the Renoir wouldn't fare so well in such an experiment. Therefore, the 'CCL-250 LG Carrying Case' is just the job.

Costing £7.99 from Amazon, the square black case looks professional in its appearance. With a faux-leather effect created from plastic, the slim protector doesn't add much extra bulk to the phone when fitted correctly.

To use, you must first lift the main screen-covering flap, and the Renoir will clip very securely into the plastic bottom section. The back of the case has a circle cut out so you can still use the phones camera, whilst the sides of the phone remain partially uncovered to allow access to the volume control buttons on the sides.

The CCL-250 is a permanent case, meaning your phone stays in it at all times rather than having to take it in and out of the case every time you want to use it. To access your phone whilst it's in the case you simply pull down the thin but protective felt-lined flap that covers the screen, and Hey Presto! you're away.

If you're looking for a simple but effective case for your Renoir (or Viewty for that matter as it fits both), then you can't go too far wrong with LG's own CCL-250. Due to its low price and protective nature, I highly recommend this model.

Summary: Efficient phone case
