Disadvantages: Not great quality
I first bought this about a year ago from the pound shop, for you guessed it a pound, I bought it mostly for my iPad, but until January of this year it sat largely unused in my iPad bag. In January of this year I started to get pains in my hand from using the touchscreen on my iPad and the touchscreens at work. I therefore dug this out to see if it would help.
This is a twin pack which contains one iphone stylus and one iPad stylus, I have tried the iphone stylus on my iPod touch, but to be honest the screens small enough that I normally just use my finger. This review will therefore concentrate on the iPad stylus.
This is about 3 inches long it is a silver colour, I think this is plastic, it has a black pen style clip at the top, and a black rubber tip designed to work with touchscreens. The corresponding iphone stylus is smaller with a small strap.
The packaging is a pink and white card with plastic bubbles holding the styluses in place. On the back of the packaging it says that these are "specially designed with a sensitive rubber tip, providing accuracy and smooth navigation. The rubber tip also prevents scratches, bumps, grease and finger prints on your screen."
I find my iPad stylus to be light and easy to use, the rubber tip works well whether I am dragging across the screen or pressing something on it. If I have one complaint it is that where the plastic ends and the rubber starts it is blunt and if you are dragging across the screen quickly, say playing a game, then you can scratch the screen with the edge of the plastic if you are not careful.
When I originally started using the stylus the rubber tip was quite hard, but within a couple of days of use it goes soft, this is a hollow rubber tip. The black plastic clip is handy for attaching to the back of my iPad's case so I don't lose it, although I still do as mostly I put it down and forget where I've put it :)
My original pen lasted about 5 months before the rubber tip split, I have since bought some more from the pound shop, but long term when I get more time I will probably see if I can find something which is a bit better quality and longer lasting.
In conclusion I like this and while it has it's faults it's easy to use and using it has stopped my hand from hurting. I think it is well worth the pound I paid for it, even without the iphone stylus. It is also available on Amazon for £4.40, and if I had paid that I think I would have been more disappointed with the overall quality of it.
