	Creative Modem Blaster V90 ... have just installed one of these modems for my parents when they came back from PC World. I didnt know what to expect in terms of their choice and what PC world would recommend but they came back with this little beauty. Its an external 56k,v90 Modem Blaster and I must say I was very impressed with the performance. It has a phone jack an RS232 port, a speaker and seperate mic socket and power supply. It was easy enough to install on an old pentium 200 and offered over 50,000bps which is acceptable. The modem looks sleek in a dark grey finish with a curve at the front. 	Diamond Supra Express 56e ... I have found that the Diamond range of internal Modems are a breeze to install and they come with software drivers which actually work for a change. Believe it or not but the manual is almost error free and not just a piece of paper thrown in as an afterthought. I had to set up several machines with a robust modem and after several trips to PC World came to the conclusion that this is the best solution. Price wise this is an excellent package. It can be pot luck choosing a modem so play it safe by choosing this model. I hav ebought both internal and external models and both are easy to set up. 	Elsa Microlink 56k Fun USB ... This Strawberry Jelly looking modem comes with the ability to software upgrade the Microlinks V.90 standard to the improved V.92 standard. If your looking for a modem just for surfing the net then this feature won't probably make any difference to you. However if you are a developer or if you send alot of emails there is a 40 percent performance gain to be made using the V.92 technology. Having said this although it is probably imeasurable the V.92 standard should offer some connection time advantages when you take into consideration the improved data compression.
