The AcerModem 56 Memory can record voice calls and faxes even with the PC turned off and it has an external button that provides a user interface similar to that of an answering machine. The AcerModem 56 Memory includes a microphone and a speaker. It can be used as a hands-free speakerphone while the PC is turned off. If the phone company provides caller ID service, which identifies the caller when the phone rings, the AcerModem 56 Memory will display this caller ID information (caller's phone number) in the LCD between first ring and second ring while the PC is turned off.
