Bintec Bianca/Brick XMP ... PRI dial-up or leased-lines, functions as modem server for central sites, as well as modem pool for Internet and Network Service Providers. BinTec routers are unique in supplying the Remote-CAPI functionally. Remote-CAPI is the technology that makes it possible to deploy comprehensive server solutions in uniform communication architecture. With BIANCA/BRICK-XMP connections to all common modems up to 56 kbit/s with K56flex technology are possible, in parallel and in addition to digital ISDN connections.

BIANCA/BRICK-XMP has a built-in Fast Ethernet LAN interface for connecting to either 10 or 100 Mbit/s Ethernet LANs, as well as an integrated ISDN-PRI interface with 2 Mbit/s to provide access to dial-up or leased-lines. The BIANCA/BRICK-XMP accommodates up to 4 K56flex modem modules FM-8MOD, and in this way provides 8, 16, 24 or 32 modem channels. Free slots can easily be equipped with K56flex modem modules FM-8MOD with minimal effort. This modularity guarantees investment protection, because it allows a router configuration according to the actual needs together with the possibility to adapt to future technologies without changing the router platform. With the DRAD technology (for Dynamic Resource Allocation & Distribution) the system is able to allocate system resources to any B-channel. This is important for the use of modem resources. It is no longer necessary to allocate these resources exclusively (and parallel) to each B-channel. Instead, they build a resource pool that can be allocated dynamically to any B-channel as required. The software security concept SAFERNET is a standard feature in BinTec line of access routers and is supported through the hardware in the BIANCA/BRICK-XMP. Amongst other features, it includes Encrypted Token Authentication and Network Address Translation, and allows to install a reliable firewall in the router.
