Once again Netgear comes up with a winner

Well first of all let me say I am a great lover of Netgear so when my old modem gave up the ghost after many years I decided to stick with Netgear. This model supports ADSL/ADSL2 and ADSL2+. The network cable set up was very easy to do just using the setup wizard and the cable supplied which was plenty long enough for me as my PC and modem are very close together. You are also supplied with a filter which I already had in place from the old modem.
The only problem I had was with my ISP which is AOL. I had to ring them to get the settings I need. The phone call took longer than the actually setting up of the modem.
Once I had done that I set my laptop and 2nd PC up wireless connections. This again took a matter of minutes with the set up wizard. With this unit I run 2 PC's and a laptop without any problems at all. The wireless signal is very strong. I am able to sit in the garden with the laptop with no loss of signal at all. A distance of about 30/40 foot.
I have had this modem for nearly 9 months now running continuously with no issues at all. Although it does get warm its not what I would class as running hot and the lights on the front of it are very unobtrusive. All in all if this one last as well as my last one I shall be more than happy to stick with the mighty Netgear!

      Such a good product

Unless your computer is not near to your phone socket, then this comes with everything you need, including two extra filters to keep your other phones working properly. It's a neat unit, and has a nice display at the front ofr four little lights that tell you exactly what's going on.

It's so easy to set up - the brain doesn't get taxed at all. It's not quite plug and go, because when you first set it up, assuming you have sorted out a contract in advance, then it takes about five minutes to sort itself out. Once it has, and all the lights have settled down, then off you go! And if you turn everything off, being a good green person and start again the next day, it only takes about a minute to reconnect. Of course, you can leave it on all the time if you want.

Connection speed is very good, obviously varying dependent on local traffic.
