Well first of all let me say I am a great lover of Netgear so when my old modem gave up the ghost after many years I decided to stick with Netgear. This model supports ADSL/ADSL2 and ADSL2+. The network cable set up was very easy to do just using the setup wizard and the cable supplied which was plenty long enough for me as my PC and modem are very close together. You are also supplied with a filter which I already had in place from the old modem.
The only problem I had was with my ISP which is AOL. I had to ring them to get the settings I need. The phone call took longer than the actually setting up of the modem.
Once I had done that I set my laptop and 2nd PC up wireless connections. This again took a matter of minutes with the set up wizard. With this unit I run 2 PC's and a laptop without any problems at all. The wireless signal is very strong. I am able to sit in the garden with the laptop with no loss of signal at all. A distance of about 30/40 foot.
I have had this modem for nearly 9 months now running continuously with no issues at all. Although it does get warm its not what I would class as running hot and the lights on the front of it are very unobtrusive. All in all if this one last as well as my last one I shall be more than happy to stick with the mighty Netgear!
