Donf18 Surfboard SB3100: ... Connecting via this method is generally regarded as being more stable than using the USB port. 4. Use this connection if you do not have a NIC card or prefer to use the USB connection method. Simply plug one end of the cable ( supplied ) into the Surfboard and the other to a spare USB port on your computer. It isn t possible to muddle them up they are both completely different shapes. The unit comes with a sof...

If you buy it separately it's about £150. I'm not going to discuss broadband in general here, just the modem itself - if you're interested in broadband I'll be discussing Blueyonder in another op later. The packaging it came in was a BIG box - you'd have thought it was a valuable easily breakable antique if you saw the amount of polystyrene protecting the thing. The box had a huge picture of a Surf Board (duh.) on it. The picture was plain but attractive...

... second to 40 or 50 kilobytes per second. All the downloads I had wanted but were much too large were all within my reach. I have only had one problem with the service which was quickly rectified and now I can play games online, surf and download the latest programs in no time. For £24.99 everything is included and in my humble opinion this is worth every penny. (* £24.99 was the current price for subscribers who already have one other Telewest service such as cable TV or telephone. Price current @ Sept 2001) ...
