Advantages: High monthly allowance, and no charges
Disadvantages: sometimes signal comes and goes
I have been using T Mobile web and welk for about 3 months now. It's reasonable value for money at £30 a month. I got this through the Carphone Warehouse and got my Laptop thrown in. There is cheaper mobile internet out there but this was a good deal for me as I was laptop-less and didn't jave the lump sum for a new one.
The contract itself gives you such a high allowance of use, 3GB a month, I never get anywhere near maxing it out, so for users like me who use the interent for basic surfing about and downloading a few songs it's more than generous. Even for a heavier user, T Mobile web and walk is good as it does not charge you per MB you go over the allowance like some other providers. Thet will simply send you a letter reminding you to stick within your limits.
Setting up is easy, you get a disc and a usb stick which contains your sim. Simply insert the insallation disc, and it gives you step by step instructions on screen. Set up took me around half an hour. Then every time you need the net, plug in the stick, open web and walk on the desktop and click connect. Easy!
The connection itself I was told was good in the London area. most of the time it is but I find from time to time it stops and I need to disconnect and reconnect to get it going again. I don't k know how reliable the connection is in other parts of the country.
Overall a good alternative for people who want interent on the go, or don't want the commitment or hassle of internet through a land line.
Summary: Good but could be better
