I was remortgaging my flat and the process was easy and swift. I was working as a conveyancer at the time though, so I guess this helped as I knew approximate timescales etc and didn t concern myself when I didn t receive my mortgage until 2 weeks after my valuation was carried out. ... went overseas for medical treatment for a serious condition last year. I couldn t afford to have it treated in the UK. Nationwide were advised of this in advance but kept sending statements for my savings account to my old address. When the letters were returned, which ofcourse they would be! They locked me out of the internet back & made it imposible for me to pay bills via my savings account. Then they started charging late fees & unauthorised overdraft fees because i was unable to transfer funds into the account becasue they had blocked me from accessing it.
