... 14th December 07 I went into my local Nationwide office to ask about my entitlement, as a qualifying member, from the merger with PORTMAN B.S. I believe this payment should have been made in mid September 07 but as of today I have had nothing. In 1997 The Royal Bank of Scotland and Virgin Direct formed a joint venture and marketed "The Virgin One" to Virgin Direct s 200,000 customers and it was an immediate hit and so in 1998 it was marketed to the general public for the first time. Since then it has continued to be a huge hit. In 2003 it became known as "The One Account" and Virgin were no longer involved. Nationwide Building Society ... I found it necessary to present myself at the offices of the Nationwide Building Society in order to withdraw a certain amount of the readies to pay for the Xmas shopping. Their nearest branch to my house stands in the heart of Corby s Bohemian quarter. If you threw a brick from its entrance, apart from being arrested you would be certain to disable some up and coming post-modern oboist or an avant garde porn broker. It is the sort of place where you can meet the worst novelists ever to degrade the English language; the sort of person who will take 30 minutes to explain exactly how they wrote their last volume when in fact all that is needed is an abject apology. ... Mortgage Exit Fees ... upon a time in the land of mortgages clients and lenders built long term relationships. There wasn t much difference between most of the lenders and people tended to get their mortgage with the building society they d saved with as kids or the bank they got their salary paid into. And once the two were wedded together, they tended to stay together - in sickness and in health and through good and bad times.
