I am a first time buyer who has just completed a mortgage with the Bank of Ireland. I have heard horror stories from my friends who have undergone the house purchase process. But not with the Bank of Ireland who I have found speedy and helpful. It took 6 days to produce my mortgage offer that was correct and clearly laid out. I have just been through the trauma which is known as house moving. This opinion would go on for days if I went into all the terrible details and problems of the last few months, (I won't!).
