Advantages: Friendly staff - Not Pushy, Lots of financial products, Web account with higherrate of interest

Disadvantages: None really

Well, there isn't one I've found. I have been with the Halifax for many, many years ans the branch I use is the one in Castleford. Staff there are always friendly, cheerful and helpful, although you usually have to queue at least 8 minutes to get to the counter which is a real bind if youare in a hurry. Therefore I only go into the branch to pay in and use the cashpoint to get cash out.

Last week, I also opened a web saver account with them which gives you slightly more interest than the liquid gold account (the branch account).

The Halifax offer a wide range of financial services, although I don't have a mortgage with them or anything, I only use them for my savings accounts, and thereare always plenty of leaflets and information brochures dotted about the branch which you can simply pick up to peruse at your convenience. They don't try and push products at you when you get to the teller (unlike my bank - Lloyds TSB) but there is an information desk right as you walk in where you can get friendly and helpful face-to-face advice should you need it.

All in all, I have always been happy with the Halifax. I have no major gripes and can see myself staying with them both online and off.

Good op, you've obviously got a lot to say. May I make the friendly suggestion that if you made it slightly longer and more chatty you would get more readers and money.
