I went through our specific requirements and Martin Hill who I initially spoke to came up with 2 solutions that would work hand in hand. What this broker offers you is the opportunity to deal with your mortgage over the phone, and dealing with the gruelling process of transacting the arrangement in 2-3 hours in total talk time. They also do not charge a fee so, there is no cost to use the service and they will search the whole of the market, barring a few direct options which they are prohibited to give advice on. If you are first time buyer then you can talk to them or a period of time and they will be more than happy to guide you through the process up until the point which you are hoing to place an offer in. Upon acceptance of an offer you can phone them up immiediately and they will be ...  Read the complete review

Introduction --------------- When I began looking for a new mortgage recently, I was dreading the whole process. When it comes to understanding interest rates and trackers and capped and fixed rates etc. I’m afraid my eyes tend to glaze over and I often don’t fully understand what I’m doing Equally, after my recent experiences with the Halifax Building Society (you can read my review elsewhere on the site), I wasn’t looking forward to getting involved with mortgages again. You are extremely over worked, they expect you to work 10-12hrs days everyday in order to graduate, they are full of promises of large bonuses but use any excuse to take them away from you and whilst you are in the graduation period they are more interested in the quantity of mortgage applications rather than the quality of completions and this is purely driven from a sales point of view rather than actually helping, assisting and advising a customer. Other peoples comments on here regarding them being no better than ..  Read the complete review

I'd not really considered using a mortgage broker before, I have worked a lot in the residential mortgage market so kind of know what Im looking for, the difference between fixed rates and trackers etc. However, we decided to transfer our mortgage to a buy to let, release some equity and purchase another property 140 miles away. Having trawled the Internet for the best rates and becoming completely confused London &Country were recommended to me by a friend. I gave them a call and explained our situation and the adviser made everything so much clearer! I was conscious of our age and not wanting to have a mortgage that would take us well into our 60's. The process was very straight forward and the best part was that it was all carried out over the phone and the appointments for calls fitted around our work which made the whole thing very convenient. From someone who remembers what it was like to have to make an appointment with a bank manager and sit nervously waiting, being able to sit ..  Read the complete review
