We received excellent service from L&C, our case was a buy to let product for a first time buyer, it was difficult to get a mortgage because there are not many lenders who will entertain 23 year olds without a property to invest in a buy to let. L&C took on our case and found a lender within a days.

M1810367.I initiated my new mortgage with my existing mortgage company and decided to look to switch to a broker simply due to very poor customer service. I found reference to L&C on the Martin Lewis website which clearly outlined the service offered. The experience with L&C couldn't have been more different. Joseph Andrew provided a fact based summary of my options and once I made a decision of the route that I preferred, secured my mortgage offer in just over one week and provided regular feedback during the week of the progress of the application. I could not have been more impressed with the service that I have received or the product obtained.
At first my house buying process should have been very simple, sadly this was not the case, and we had many issues with the sellers and needed to reduce the price as we found it was a leasehold property. Thankfully L&C were really accommodating, and were able to make the process far less painful.
At first I was nervous as they were an online service, but this really didn't matter as there were always there to answer questions quickly and provided great service.

Great service over the past 10 years or so on a series of mortgages and remortgages. L&C has been very proactive about prompting reviews for remortgage and quick to turn around quotes and information. Their documentation is easy to work with and the team is friendly. When scoping the products needed L&C were good at understanding what our needs and objectives are.
I have been using London & Country Mortgages for around 4 years and have completed many buy-to-let mortgages through this company. I really cannot sing their praises high enough. I have put through three mortgages in the last two months alone, with an offer being made within 6 to 8 working days on each application (from the date of my first enquiry).
L & C are fast friendly and efficient. There is no better broker in the country and I genuinely speak from experience. Their communications are outstanding and as a consequence I only use L&C exclusively from now on. There's none better!!
M1752286. This was my first experience of using a mortgage broker for a BTL mortgage. The process has taken longer than I would have liked, but I have been very impressed with the service offered by various staff at L&C. Most importantly, they understand that whilst delays may be inevitable, communication is vitally important, even if there is no positive news to report. Both the people dealing with my application have dealt promptly and courteously with any enquiries.
I'm giving 4 out of 5, rather than full marks, because I think some delays could have been avoided if it had been clearer to me that not only did the prospective mortgage company want proof of my deposit, but they also wanted to see transfers from my savings account to my current account. That was not clear to me, and it did cause delays. I'm not saying it was necessarily the fault of anyone - just that both they and I might have been saved some time had it been clearer.
I was also not particularly impressed that they recommended a conveyancing company whose reviews are, in general, appalling. In their defence, there is no obligation to use that company, but I don't think it reflects very well to recommend a company, especially since it is clear that L&C do receive substantial commission for any work done by that company. I just don't understand why a company whose customer service seems so good should recommend another where that is not the case, unless for the commission.
Despite that, I think L&C have done a very good job. The people I dealt with knew what they were talking about, gave good advice on stuff I was not so sure about and gave me confidence that however occasionally frustrating the process might be (mainly due to overly picky MLR/POCA nonsense from mortgage company, so not L&C's fault), we would get the matter resolved.
Just completed a BTL mortgage through L&C and simply can't thank them enough for making it hassle-free journey. Highly recommended mortgage brokers and i'd use them again in the future.

My father has used London & Country Mortgages for donkey years to sort out his mortgages and other financial products associated with buying a house and getting a mortgage and now I can see why. We used Nick Smith as our mortgage advisor, as recommend by my father and Nick was absolutely brilliant. He explained everything in as simple terms as possible and used his expertise and knowledge of the market to find a 95% mortgage for us that fitted in with our budget exactly. As well as the mortgage, Nick recommended a conveyancing solicitors company and also put me onto other companies to get quotations like building and contents insurance and mortgage life insurance. Even when there was a hiccup during the mortgage application stage, Nick stepped in and sorted it all out without me having to do anything at my end and this totally took away the stress and pains of applying for a mortgage. We also had a dedicated Customer Service Manager, Daniel Eskins, who kept us updated regularly with the progress of our mortgage application. Needless to say we have been offered the mortgage and are very, very happy. I would highly recommend London & Country Mortgages to anyone and we will certainly use them in the future to search for a new mortgage provider once our current fixed term mortgage period runs out.
