Right , No fancy jargon , straight down to earth opinion - I dont give praise normally having been jaded by years of ineffective and pretty dull or ordinary service. We have had our Virgin One mortgage around 15 years now and I dont run it in conjunction with my current account but I took it because of the ... Read the complete review

to be blunt DONT GO HERE! I have had a one account for ten years and have been very happy until recently when the debarcle of interest rates started. They have refused to pass on savings to customers (rate is still in excess of 6%) but what is worse is that they are hiding behind small print. It was always understood in the ... We have had a virgin one account for about two years now, although it is all your accounts rolled in to one you can seperate them by creating pots{ of which we have many of}This seperates what you owe and what you actually have to spend, thus avoiding overspending what you dont really have. We are hoping to clear our mortgage in ... Read the complete review

It's simple logic as I see it... The Virgin One account is great for "The Bank" and not so great for "The Borrower"...on average. Any Bank or lender trying to sell you something that they claim will save 8/10 homeowners thousands in interest costs is definitely offset by a statistical probability that the ... All the good things written about the Virgin One Account seem to be true. It's a great way to pay off your borrowing early and can save a significant amount in interest payments. Great. Notice that I used the term 'borrowing'? This is important. The One Account is exactly that: an account. The term 'mortgage' is ... Read the complete review

I have been with Virgin One for two years now and without doubt the only advantage is the huge saving I make in interest owed. Setting it up is fairly painless but you will need to take out life cover to protect the amount owed. I’m sure you all know the principal by now, but in case you’ve just arrived on ... Just over a year ago we were considering changing our mortgage to get a better deal I was intrigued by Virgin One?s advertising and decided to contact them. They claim that eight out of ten people would save thousand of pounds with this account. Obviously with a claim like this I had to find out more. I initially contacted them ... Until recently I had a very low opinion of banks. I hated them in fact. Bunch of bankers. My opinion had been soured by years of bad service and downright incompetence at the hands of two of the biggest high street banks, NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland. Then, last summer, a friend suggested that I should get a ... Read the complete review

This has to be one of the greatest finds of the 20th Century (I found it in 1999 before you start arguing!!). The history - at 25 I decided to buy a flat in sunny Worcester. The flat cost £51,000 and I needed a mortgage of £40,000. Having gone through the estate agent I was buying from to find a mortgage I eventually ended up ... Read the complete review

I moved to this account last year after learning that the lousy endowment mortgage I had with the Abbey National was going to leave me out of pocket. It was easily the best financial decision I have ever made. The application process was quick and easy, the whole thing taking less than two weeks from start to finish. The on-line banking ... The has to be the future of mortgages. My husband and I (Sorry to sound like the Queen) are fairly normal(?) people with average salaries - and we have a very real chance of paying off the mortgage within ten years. The Virgin One account works as a bank account into which you have to pay all your salary. If, for example, you ... Read the complete review

This is a very good mortgage company to use. The basic idea is that you have one account for all your finances. This means any money you have saved comes off your mortgage and as soon as your wages come in it also comes off your mortgage. You can therefore pay off your mortgage more quickly than you would normally without having to give ... Read the complete review

Virgin one does offer an excellent account that pools all of your resources into one pot and allows you to save loads of money off interst on your mortgage. The way it works is you basically have one overdraft facility which is the value of your mortgage. Then any savings and money paid off your mortgate, salary etc all get ... Read the complete review
