Woolwich mortgages are dire. They do not want the business and try their utmost to not allow the mortgage application to proceed. They put obstacles in the path of every possible avenue. I called the Woolwich yesterday to ask about a loan on my mortgage and must say that I received the best customer service I have experienced for a long time.

I wasn't kept on the line for a long time and each person I spoke to was very polite and professional and explained everything in a simple and easy to understand way. I don't think you can expect much more than that. And the call centre was actually in this country!

my sister and her partner found a flat recently that they wanted to buy on a part rent part buy scheme, noone would consider them for a morgage, except woolwich.
it has been over four weeks since they said they would think about it, my sister and her partner paid the money to set up a morgage and get the flat valued.
woolwich have now said that they wont give them a morgage and that they dont refund money either, my sister and her patner have been left out of pocket and on the streets because of the lack of comunation and comstumer satisfaction.
there was no help with call lines or staff on the phone.
i will warn other people to stay away from woolwich and not to pay any money until they have signed an agreement for a morgage with them.

We had a mortgage with the Woowich a year or so ago, but eventually remortgaged to BritannicMoney. Woolwich actually offer some of the best deals around for mortgages, which is a shame since I have to say that they were a nightmare to deal with.
