Asus P4S8X-X ... Well there is no way I can review this motherboard for Intel Pentium4-type socket 478 processors without referring to my earlier review of the Asus P4S-533 found here : http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/computers/motherboards/asus_p4s533_e_l_sis645dx/_revie w/415876/ Because in that review I regret certain features that this Asus P4S8X-X does have. Funny enough it seems that even this 'newer' board ? which is also fifteen months old now - misses out on yet again on features that have become mainstream since I reviewed the P4S533. Asrock K7VM2 ... bought 3 Asrock K7VM2 Motherboards i've become something of an expert on them. what suprised me is the large amount of CPU support!. eg. This board will run a 1.3ghz Duron and will reach an AthlonXP 2400+. Anyone buying this Board will discover that everything needed is onboard, so it's ideal for a first computer build or even a nice machine to network with as it includes on board LAN. also the ever ageing serial connection is included and get this 4 USB2.0 on board, plus the choice for expansion. Anyone not sure whether not to have one must admit that onboard graphics, sound, Lan, USB 2.0 and standard PS/2 is pretty good. For handling it's tasks it... PCChips 810LMR ... have been involved in the computer assembly and retail business for 13 years and I cannot think of a Far East company worthy of more criticism than Protac International who are responsible for the PC Chips product. You have to get things into perspective when dealing with companies like this. This is a company who supplied Motherboards with FAKE chips mounted on their motherboards back in 1995. They supplied tens of thousands 486 Motherboards to the UK computer market with chips they called 'write-back cache'.
