Gigabyte GA-5AA (Rev 3.2) ... had a an Pentium MMX PC and wanted to upgrade the motherboard and CPU and keep everything else. I also required the motherboard to be in AT format, otherwise it won't fit in my casing. This was the best choice. So far, the motherboard has worked flawlessly. If you do get the board, I advise you to download the latest AGP drivers... otherwise, your AGP card might not work too well. The manual which comes with the motherboard could be better but it has all the information you'll need to install it. It has two USB ports but note that you need to buy a seperate connector to use the ports. It is not expensive though (~£10). I have used this motherboard with modern de... Gigabyte GA-5AA (Rev 3.2) ... the GA5AA is a good value motherboard, I built one of my PC's and one for someone else using the same. As boards go this one was easy to setup except for the placing of the IDE cables as they have to go right accross the top of the CPU cooling fan( the ones supplied with the board are not long enough to be strapped out of the way!). They would have done better to move the ide plugs over even at the expense of making the board slightly larger. Functionality of the board is superb once it has been installed with an easy to use BIOS setup utility which - unlike the majority of boards would let you get through the POST even if the memory you were using was faulty. ... FIC VA 503+ ... my opinion the best socket 7 motherboard ever manufactured. It features some of the better things that can be seen on a socket 7 board like 1Mb of L2 cache (superfast memory where small frequently used information is stored). The processor support is very good on this board also. It will take an Intel Pentium mmx, AMD K6, AMD K6-2 to 500MHz and 550MHz and the Cyrix MII upto 400MHz. This is one of the broadest processor supporting motherboards. The VA-503+ is based on one of the most proven, best and reliable chipsets in the VIA MVP3.
