Asus A7N8X Deluxe ... purchased this motherboard after having always having cheap motherboards before which I was not happy with. The motherboard is ideal for the latest Athlon Processors including the Barton and the 400Mhz FSB variety. The overclocking ability, especially for the Barton processors is excellent as it automatically unlocks the multiplier and the front side bus to give you maximum control over the CPU and RAM speeds. As this board is an Nforce2 chipset, changing these settings does not affect any other components on the board. The board layout is generally very good but there is quite a few capacitors very close to the CPU socket making it difficult to install a large ... MSI KT4VL ... bought this motherboard with the intention of upgrading my system. I had recently upgraded my operating system from Windows ME to Windows XP and my existing motherboard didn't seem to be integrating with Windows XP very well. I made the decision to purchase a new motherboard (which would also entail buying new RAM) a new CPU and a new Graphics Card (which I will review at a later date). Fortunately I had all the other components needed from my previous self-built PC. Right, now to the board (at last!). I purchased it from www.ebay.co.uk for about £65.00. Abit NF7-S ... bought this mobo for the first computer system i've ever built from scratch, and i have to say it is incredible. There is so much fun to be had, you can change a million and one settings from the BIOS, its great! *Ok first things first CPU installation was a sinch, drop the CPU into the socket and push the leaver down. Give the die a nice clean along with the contact spot on the heatsink, slap (well not exactly) some Arctic Silver III on, and on goes the the heatsink. There are 4 mounting holes around the socket for the oversized overclocking heatsinks, and the board is very acomodating. *Ram installation was the only problem i really came across, but to be ...
