Asus K8V-X:
... bought this product in January 2005 with cpu AMD Athlon 64 2800+. This system I have use today. I have overlocked FSB from 200 to 225 MHz. Barrier of overlocking has been SATA interface. At freqency more. then 225 MHz my HDD does net starting. Freqency of AGP and PCI have no multiplier to FSB. Memory (DDR 400 Hynix 512 Mb) func without annotations at 450 MHz. In my opinion it is a good product for desktop system if... Read the full review: ASUS by berliozz_n |

MSI 875P NEO-FISR ... first looked at purchasing this board back in 2003 to upgrade my old Athlon system, back in the days when the Pentium was way ahead in performance. I read through many magazines and at loads of reviews for the motherboard that came with the best all round qualities. This includes good performance, general quality, reliability, features and value. OK, it was quite on the pricey side, but I decided that because I was upgrading my system for the "long term" this wouldn t be a big deal. I bought the board along with new RAM which was PC3200 (400Mhz) effective, and 2 sticks of 512MB to enable the dual channeling feature. I also bought a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU. I i... Asus K8V SE Deluxe ... you re looking for the perfect partner to a Socket 754 (AMD Athlon 64) chip, then this is the board. You won t be able to use the new, more expensive, dual core chips now on the market, as these require a Socket 939, but for those of us looking for a system capable of running Half Life 2 at high resolution and high speed, which is also a damn solid workstation at a reasonable cost, then this is a fabulous upgrade. I have to confess to being a bit of a VIA fan. A lot of people think they are a bad chipset manufacturer, and I will admit that their Intel chipsets are far from perfect. However, their AMD boards have always been excellent, and in the 6 months+ I ve owned t... Read the full review: The KING of Socket 754 Motherboards. by Ten98 |

MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R ... a long time I thought a motherboard was just a motherboard - something that you plug a processor and a few cards into to get a computer to work. Granted an important component, but I used to think brand didn t matter. Motherboards are annoying - every time a standard changes in the computer world, or you want to upgrade your processor, you will probably have to change your motherboard too. But that was many years ago when computers weren t really gaming machines - these days though there are many reasons to pick a good motherboard, and, unfortunately, more bad boards than good. There are some makes, like PC Chips, that will always be Budget with a capital B. Some... Read the full review: Screams of Quality by thanatoszane |
