A motherboard is the main choice in my eyes for deciding what your computer is going to be. It wont matter if you have a P3 500mhz or 800mhz, if your motherboard is not good then your system will be held back. To start you always look at what the board has and this board has it all. It is a very future reliable board as it can support processor bus speeds upto 150mhz(P2 runs@66mhz, P3@100mhz/133mhz). This is a non-Athlon board as it is not suitable for them. Bonus areas are 5 PCI slots which fit cards in easily and 3 memory slots. Even the standard and now becoming standard hard drives are supported with UDMA 66 compatiblity(hd run@33mhz new ones@66mhz, remember this is transfer speed to usage and not speed of running which isnt determined by the board). There are also SCSI connections available which are there for those who want that little bit quicker. The layout of the chips and slots are very good and there are no cramped areas. I have all my slots used up and do not have much trouble only with a little overheat on clocking but that is no cause of the board itself. The BIOS on the board has lots of settings and really is easy to overclock. As long as your memory and CPU take it, the board will deliver. There are many ways of actually overclocking in there, you just have to learn how to. If you buy the board from a reliable supplier aswell, you should get a detailed booklet which explains very well what things are and what they are for. This motherboard is very satisfying for all my needs, be it gaming or anything else but the price may make the standard user shy away from such a purchase. I have owned this board for over a year and it still has at least 2yrs compatibility left in it for the high spec user. A must buy, defintely!!
I have fitted this brand of motherboard into my new computer system consisting of the Pentium III processor and this motherboard comes with a huge 5 PCI slots and 2 ISA such that I can fit all my cards without any problems. Installation is easy and in less than an hour I got the entire system running. This brand of motherboard can handle the variety of PCI cards which I used: graphic card, sound card, TV tuner card and modem card. And it is running extremely stable. I could do my complex simulation on this system. That is why I recommend this motherboard to everyone who plan to purchase a new computer!
