Abit KD7-G: ... worked well for years and it is still full-working, btw it is going to be a little old. Fast and stable, easy to overclock, the money I spent to buy this MB (170Euros) were spent for a good item! It has been one of the first MB with gbit lan, and its 4 ddr slots allow to install a big quantity of RAM to use TECH application with no problem. The best MB I ever bought!!...

... the motherboard and a xp 3500 processor setup was easy on this motherboard. The first thing i noticed is the OTIS cooling no fan s on the motherboard just a heatpipe that goes from the central core of the motherboard to a bay that keeps the system cool by extracting the heat through the pipe. Very silent compared to fan systems ie northbridge fans too noisy. The audio system is realtek ac 97 chipset supporting 7.1 channel sound havent tested the 7.1 but the 5.1 senses the speakers automatically through the software and configures them easily. The abit software updates the bios automatically as the board now supports the FX series chip s. On board sata and raid ...

... board is still one of the best Socket-A Motherboards money can buy. The nForce 2 Ultra-400 Chipset is great for overclocking, and this board can hit front side buses of 220+ with ease. Whilst if you want a slightly higher (10-20mHz) fsb a DFI board would suit you better, this board performs the same at lower speeds. The Northbridge fan can sometimes be a little whiney, but that is easily replaced. The heatsink mounting holes are extremely useful for heavier heatsinks such as the Thermalright SP-97 and waterblocks if watercooling is your bag. The board's onboard SoundStorm which provides 6 channel sound is excellent for onboard sound, but there are known issues wi...

... the temperature. This is very useful if you are going for a quiet system, but still need to max the CPU out on Unreal 2003. *Conclusion: Basically this is the best AMD board out there for overclocking without a doubt. Incredi bly stable, fast and hardly any chance of destroying the CPU. Highly recommended!! Even for the End-User this board is perfect, although probably a little expensive. Abit constantly support the board too, they literally release a new BIOS every month or so compared to my old gateway motherboard which had 1 driver update in its lifetime. The board has everything you will ever need and more (quick list) - *FSB 400 (support for Barton 32...
