Abit KT7-RAID ... for the worse. I started getting all sorts of compatibility problems with my sound blaster like which i soon found to be very common with other users. I got random system reboots for a whole month which i eventually found out was down to a conflicting segate driver. About 1 month ago, the north bridge fan started to make a terrible noise untill it eventually stopped spinning. I emailed Abit a number of times but i never received a reply. After sales service is very poor. Over all, if your looking for a good socket A mother board look else where. I would reccomend the epox and iWill motherboards. ... Abit KT7A ... remember the good old days... you bought a motherboard, screwed it into a case, plugged in all your bits and pieces, flipped the switch, and bob's you're uncle... a new PC is up and running. Great stuff! Ahhh... if only it was still so easy! What we have here is a *real* double-edged sword... The Abit KT7A is a very nicely specced board, and packed full of tweakable features that make it something of an overclocker's holy grail.... and yet, at the same time, it's without a doubt one of the fussiest bits of kit I've ever built a system around! Abit KT7E ... AMD K6-2 500Mhz CPU (Central Processing Unit – the “brain” in your PC) I decided to splash out and upgrade to a new CPU as well. Being a student, and the fact I’d just bought a new case and CD-Rewriter, money was not exactly flowing from my wallet (the moths were on forced diet) so I plumped for an entry level CPU and associated motherboard. I eventually chose the Abit KT7E motherboard. I’d had an Abit motherboard before, and was very impressed with the ease at which it handled everything.
