Abit KT7A:
... my Abit KT-7 Raid motherboard's Bios became corrupted, it was a long 4 week wait for a replacment. Imagine my surprise and delightment when Abit replaced it with their newer model, the "KT-7A Raid". The "A" designates the new Via chipset which supports the new Athlon chips with a 266mhz front side bus. As I'm considering replacing my current Athlon 900 with an Athlon 1.3ghz, this new... Abit KA7-100 ... KA7-100 is based on VIA’s KX133 chipset. The KX133 is now old news; it was designed to work with AMD’s old-style Slot A Athlon processors and is incompatible with the newer Socket A (Socket 462) Athlons. If anyone were to buy a new motherboard today it would not be this one. However, I’m not going to focus too much on this but more on why if I had to choose and upgrade board for my Slot A system or a second-hand system, I would choose this one. In terms of processor support, the KA7-100 supports every Athlon that was ever made in the Slot A format. This includes Athlons from their start at around 550 MHz to the Athlon 1GHz, the fastest ch... Read the full review: The best of the 'old' Athlon boards by Bezuk |

Abit KT7A-RAID ... you could have 30 identical Hard drives plugged in and raid to gain extra performace or increase data intergrity, by using the RAID in its different modes (0,1, or 0 + 1 - for full details see abit website) It offers an ISA slot, even though these are out of date, some of us older users have ISA cards we want to keep. Alot of the other feature are standard - but we are paying for quality. Abit have a good repretation and it seam to me they are keeping it. I myself used to have an ASUS A7M266 mobo, after I send that back due to having problem my first choice was Abit. Even though it does not support DDR memory, it is still a good buy. SD-RAM is so cheap now ... Read the full review: Best Buy! by Lcars_UK |

Abit BP6 ... get one thing out in the open from the beginning the Abit BP6 is one of the most exiting and important mainboard releases ever. Why? Lets have a look at a little history... When Intel released the original cacheless Celeron it was targeted fairly and squarely at the low end. The high end was dominated by the Pentium Pro and also the then new Xeon. Both the pro and the Xeon supported and boasted about their SMP support, used in highend graphic workstations and file servers. The Celeron was sold as a Uniprocessor CPU only. Nevertheless a very clever Japanese chap soon discovered that the Celeron could be modified to run in SMP but frankly, the modifications involved we... Read the full review: God of all boards by |
