When I unpacked the board I noticed that there was sufficient room around the CPU socket but maybe not enough for some overclocking coolers, an experience point to note here being that some cases have their power supply units right above where the processor would be which can make cooler fitting a nightmare, so either fit it outside the case or remove you PSU before you start. I bought this board about a year and a half ago to replace my very old Gigabyte board. I got a good price as they were not the most all singing all dancing versions of an nForce 2 Ultra 400 board. What makes the AK79D-400VN such good value for money is that is a mixture of good and bad points. If you are looking for a board which will just be serving the core functions like provide fast connectivity for your disk, cpu and ram then this is the board for you, no bells and whistles or gold knobs in sight.
